1. Readme.txt 
This document describes and defines all files used in data set.

2. Codebook.pdf 
This document describes in detail all 28 variables used in the research, their labels, definitions, types, measures, and categories.

3. Dataset 
Here you will find the .xlsx files of the 23 journals that make up the dataset.
We divide academic journals into two categories: ‘journals about Latin America’ and ‘journals from Latin America’.
3.1 About Latin America
This folder contains the 8 files in .xlsx format of the journals classified as ‘about Latin America’.
3.2 From Latin America
This folder contains the 15 files in .xlsx format of the journals classified as ‘from Latin America’.

4. Figures 
This folder contains the 5 figures of the article:

6. Thesaurus 
This folder contains the thesauri used to reproduce the four figures in the article.
The thesauri standardize different spellings of the same terms (with and without accents), unify variations for terms with the same meaning (e.g. 'party politics' or 'political parties' are standardized as 'party'), and correct ambiguities in the author names in the database.
The documents in this folder are named according to the date of their last version. You will find two types of thesauri: authors and words.

6.1 Thesaurus authors 
This folder contains two documents to reproduce Figures 4 and 5 in the VOSviewer software. The documents are:
